The early days

For 10 years our Australian owned and operated business has provided the highest standard of residential and commercial installations across Melbourne and regional Victoria, and more recently in Sydney and Newcastle.

Director and founder Clint Runnalls, himself an A-grade electrician, already had 5 years experience in the solar industry and was proud to be contributing to a healthier environment. He ran up to 4 highly qualified teams under the banner of CBR Electrical Solutions. The business model was to sub-contract the teams to do installations for solar sales companies that didn't have their own installers.

From installer to seller

However, there was ever-increasing demand for Clinton to expand the company to offer the full customer experience, from initial consultation right through to post-installation support. This led to the renaming of the business to CBR Solar and Electrical in 2021. Additionally, fellow Directors Brenton Webb and Steve McKee came aboard with the necessary expertise to make the new business work. Apart from continuing to do high quality installations, CBR was now covering sales, system design, and all the necessary applications, approvals and inspections.

In February 2023, the government introduced the New Energy Tech Code of Conduct (NETCC) to replace the previous Approved Solar Retailer status, to which CBR was a signatory. This new NETCC code of conduct goes beyond just solar and embraces the full range of renewable options, which matches the evolution of CBR into more than ‘just a solar company.
